(Forever New top, ASOS pants, Dotti heels, Fossil watch, Prada sunglasses.)

They said it would happen, but it didn't. She said she could make it, but something came up. He said he would call, but he never did. Plans change. Things fall through. Such is life.

Sometimes, the universe decides to have a just little too much fun when messing with your life... You know when you have these expectations about what's coming up, you make plans and get rather excited about it all. And then suddenly, for some reason or another, it doesn't work out?

The last few weeks have definitely thrown in some curveballs, to say the least. Included in these were unexpected last-minute relocations to questionable small towns (where top attractions include rock art centres), uncertain future living situations, friends having near-death experiences and the logistical nightmare of organising travel between five different domestic airports while still trying to make it to work on time. As a result, the remainder of the year is looking stupidly busy, slightly stressful and overall less than ideal.

But even though things aren't panning out quite the way I had expected them to, I've come to realise that what's done is done, and no amount of overthought, annoyance or what if's can change that. All we can do is take things as they come and just make the most of each situation. Plus, it's not all bad; sprinkled amongst the chaos are some fun times to look forward to as well. The biggie of these upcoming fun times is a spontaneous 10 day trip to CHINA that I booked when I may or may not have been drunk (oops). So when life gives you lemons, forget about lemonade. Go find yourself some salt and tequila - it will help get you through the rough times and really make the most out of the good ones.

(On a fashion-related note, how great are these pants! They certainly make me look and feel much more in control of my life than I currently am, and the colour is an absolute winner.)
