As a frequent visitor of The Chocolate Lounge in New Zealand, I was rather excited to try out some of the sweet treats from Max Brenner during my stay in Brisbane. We arrived at about lunchtime, so the queue was almost out the door and the kitchen staff were working like mad to keep up with the demand. It was a 30 minute wait before we even got to place our order, but luckily the food came pretty fast after that. Feeling bold, I decided try out the Spectacular Choc-Fudge Brownie Sundae. Gregor ordered the Tutti-Frutti Waffle, and we also got a Cookieshake to share. Needless to say, we made ourselves feel a bit sick trying to finish it all! The waffles and shake were really delicious, but the brownie sundae was just a bit too intense for me. A great food experience, but I probably wouldn't come back again because it was quite expensive for dessert, about $30 for what we ordered.
Afterwards, we took a walk around South Bank to soak up the afternoon sunshine and burn off some of the calories (I don't even want to know how much it would've added up to!). I absolutely fell in love the pretty purple flower canopies that covered the walkways there. So bright and beautiful; they definitely made a Winter's day feel like the middle of Spring.
No shame, no shame! It's fine to make an exception for the guilty pleasures that life has to offer. Just looking at your photos makes me feel like I've gained kilos though! ;) x
